The Fumes have recently returned from the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan after performing two explosive sets to rapturous audiences and promoting their debut album. The elated two piece have hit home to Australian shores and re-commenced work on their follow-up album to ‘Guns of Gold’. Their second studio album has attracted the services of Jim Diamond (The White Stripes) and Matt O'Connor( The A & R Department) as co-producers. The Fumes will get into the studio at Megaphon in Sydney midway through October to start recording. Please stay tuned for more updates!

Some nights it’s like this, where it all goes well from the moment you close your front door until you stagger out of the venue a couple of hours later, exhilarated and exhausted, quivering like a 10-year-old hopped up on sugar, shrieking “I wanna go AGAIN!” And yes, that was me.
You gotta love The Fumes. The duo appeared on stage, cranked out an outstanding set and managed to make me forget just for a little while who we had all come to see. Theirs was a skuzzy, swampy, distorted sound that’s maybe second cousin once removed from the primordial ooze that rock’n’roll springs from. Think filthy, bluesy, somewhat damaged and a strangely perfect warm up for the Queens show. Who wants cool when raw, blistering guitar and drums feels this good? […>

BIG IN JAPAN!?
That’s right friends, The Fumes debut album ‘Guns of Gold’ is now available in the domestic market in Japan on Blues Interaction Inc- P.Vine Records.
Our new friends in Japan have anointed our boys the ‘New Generation Jam Blues Rock! The one and only Blues Inc are Japans largest independent label and publisher since 1975. P-Vine Records have over 30 years experience in the industry.
They initially started as a re-issue label of American Soul and Blues music in the '70s, and now their catalogue has expanded to jazz, hip-hop, R&B, rock, and reggae from all over the world. Their central aim, however, remains in the releases of blues and rock music and they have continued to release countless number of musicians. Some other recent releases include Koko Taylor, RL Burnside, The Slip, Rose Hill Drive and Iron & Wine.
